Men wanted by police after huge £1.5 million cannabis factory discovered in Sheffield

A police hunt is under way for a number of men wanted after police busted a drug den in the city

Officers discovered a cannabis factory in an industrial unit in Tinsley in December on December 23, last year.

Around 1,500 plants were seized, with an estimated street value of £1.5 million.

PC Laura Thompson, from South Yorkshire Police, said: “We know that in cases of significant cannabis grows like this, there are often connections to organised crime – which is something we are determined to disrupt and dismantle however we can.

“This drugs seizure removes a significant amount of drugs from the streets of Sheffield, and our investigation to identify those individuals involved in this matter are ongoing.”

Two men, aged 23 and 24-years-old, were arrested on suspicion of producing controlled drugs and both bailed.

They have released photographs of a number of men who they believe could hold vital information.
