Men due in Sheffield Magistrates' Court today charged with assaulting Rotherham council worker

Two men will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today after they were charged with assaulting a Rotherham council worker on Monday, August 17.

The attack took place at 5pm on Monday, when an environment officer was carrying out a routine visit at a property in John Street, Masbrough and two unknown men approached him.

The men are reported to have started demanding money before they carried out an assault on the 45-year-old council worker by hitting him around the head several times.

Alex Winn and Vaughan Parker were located nearby after the attack and detained by officers.

Winn, 21, of Grange Road and Parker, 22, of Psalters Lane were both charged yesterday (Tuesday, August 18) with assault causing actual bodily harm.

The pair who are alleged to have carried out the violent attack, will appear before Sheffield Magistrates later today (Wednesday, August 19).
