Man ‘grabbed woman and licked her hand’ as she worked in Sheffield city centre

Police are appealing to find a man allegedly ‘licked’ and assaulted a young woman while she was working in Sheffield city centre.

Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they seek to speak to after a 25-year-old woman was assaulted while at work on Matilda Street on Wednesday, July 29 at around 10.30am.

The unknown man is alleged to have grabbed her hand, licked it and made a sexually explicit comment to her.

While the woman who was assaulted is uninjured, she remains shaken by the attack.

Police are now urging anybody who can help identify the man in the CCTV image to come forward.

If you have information about the assault or recognise the man in the picture, you should call police on 101, quoting incident number 604 of 30 July 2020.

Alternatively, you can call report findings anonymously via charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
