Sheffield career burglar who stole 'irreplaceable' wedding rings jailed for five years
He broke into three homes in one day, stealing over £10,000 in prized possessions
A 21-year-old career criminal who broke into three Sheffield homes in a single day has been jailed.
Mckenzie Williams, of Doncaster Road, Rotherham, smashed his way into two properties in a row and attempted to hit a third in a thieving spree on January 15, 2026.

At one home, in Teesdale Road, the then-20-year-old and an accomplice smashed a rear window and made off with over £10,000 in prized possessions, including laptops, jewellery and passports.
Then, on the very same day at a home in Smalldale Road, he again broke in, this time making off with the “irreplaceable” wedding rings of the victim’s parents, as well as a locket belonging to her mother.
Seemingly still not satisfied, Williams then targeted a second property on Smalldale Road by hammering on a glass window - but fled when he was interrupted by the resident, who was still home.
In addition, just a week before on January 7, Williams burgled another home in Halifax Road and made off with bank cards, which he then used to buy £100 in goods on the same day.
Sheffield Crown Court heard a victim impact statement from the victim on Teesdale Road, a mother whose husband was out of town and came home with her children to find the house ransacked.
She told police: “It made me feel completely violated and vulnerable.
“When we came back home, my children cried and screamed. They ran to their rooms to see what had been taken, then came back down stairs and sank to the floor in tears.
“When it occurred to them someone may still be in the house, they ran into the garden in panic. I had to try and explain to them how important it was not to touch anything.
“I live in fear that someone will do this again.”
“I hope by reading this victim impact statement to you,” Recorder Mr Sean Sullivan told Williams in sentencing, “that you understand the impact your breaking in has on people.
“Your history of offending for someone as young as you is terrible.
“You have a record of stealing property that belongs to others including burglary, robbery, taking vehicles without consent, fraud, breaking into cars and making off without payment.
“You have been jailed for this previously. You have learned nothing from that experience and you are getting to a point where you will receive longer and longer sentences if you keep coming back.”
Williams, who appeared over a live link from prison, was jailed for 61 months.
