Opening, the prosecution said that in the late hours of Friday 7th August 2020, a party had taken place in the garden of a house in Firth Park, Sheffield.

“It was a pretty informal occasion that had started with some music in nearby Concord Park in Shire Green but due to the large numbers, the police told the organizer/DJ to leave the park.

“Instead of stopping, the DJ had continued the party at his home address on Horninglow Rd in Firth Park sometime around 10.30pm.

“The DJ had organized a similar party the week before. He had advertised both events on social media and consequently a lot of people turned up on this Friday night both in the park and then at his home.

“By 12.30am (8th August 2020), one man at the party had been slashed down his chest and Marcus Ramsay had been stabbed to death with a single blow that went into his heart.”

The case continues.
