Man shot in neck and back in Sheffield remains in hospital

The 24-year-old was found injured in William Street, Broomhall, at around 11.30pm on Tuesday, having been shot near to a recreation area on Upper Hanover Street.
He was operated on and remains in hospital in a stable condition today.

Hide AdNo arrests have yet been made over the shooting but two men, aged 24 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of possessing firearms after officers carried out raids in William Street and Wharncliffe Road, Broomhall.
South Yorkshire Police said the men, who remain in custody, were not arrested over the actual shooting.
The force said: “Extensive enquiries are being carried out as officers build up a picture of the circumstances leading up to the firearm discharge, which left a man seriously injured.
“Officers have now concluded their work at addresses on William Street and Wharncliffe Road, where warrants were executed overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday.
