Man in 'serious condition' in hospital after Rotherham shooting

A man is in hospital in a serious condition after he was shot in Rotherham this morning.

South Yorkshire Police said officers were alerted to the shooting at 9.20am after a man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds after an incident in Thrybergh, Rotherham.

Park Lane is cordoned off and under police guard while enquiries take place.

No other details have yet been released.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers were called at 9.20am this morning following reports a man was in hospital with suspected gunshot injuries. He is described as being in serious condition.

“Park Lane in Thrybergh has been closed by police to allow for initial enquiries to take place.

“An investigation is underway and is in its early stages.”

Anyone with information about the incident should call 101 and quote incident 224 of September 23.
