A man has been taken to hospital after being seriously injured in an attack in Sheffield.

The 45-year-old was assaulted at around 2.21am today near a row of shops on Gleadless Road, Gleadless Valley.
South Yorkshire Police said he suffered a serious head injury.

Hide AdA 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody this afternoon.
South Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called at 2.21am with reports of a disturbance on Gleadless Road.”
