Man 'critical' after Ecclesall Road attack as woman arrested over incident

A police probe into an attack on Ecclesall Road which left a man critically injured is continuing today.

A 36-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after he was found seriously injured shortly after 5.30pm on Saturday, September 19.

Ecclesall Road was sealed off and under police guard for a number of hours while enquiries were carried out.

There was also a police cordon in place on nearby Hickmott Road.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested over the incident yesterday.

She was held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The latest information released by South Yorkshire Police was that the injured man remained in a critical condition yesterday.

Officers investigating the attack want to hear from witnesses or any motorists in the area with dash cam footage.
