Man charged over burglary at Sheffield gun shop

A man has been charged in connection with a burglary after a number of firearms were stolen during a raid at a Sheffield gun shop.

Andrew Coy, 33, of Eldon Court, has been charged with aggravated burglary, burglary, possession of a shotgun and possession of a firearm, and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates Court today, Monday April 6.

The charges relate to a burglary at Hardy’s Gunsmiths on Alderson Road, Highfield, at around 12.50am on Friday, April 3.

Two other people arrested in connection with the incident, a 38-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, have been released under investigation.

Further warrants have taken place in Sheffield over the weekend in the wake of the burglary and enquiries continue.
