Three people have been arrested over the break-in after a number of search warrants were executed across Sheffield in the wake of the burglary in a bid to find the stolen guns.

Two men, aged 38 and 33-years-old, and a 31-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods and remain in police custody this morning.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Hakin, who is overseeing the investigation, said: “This is a fast-paced investigation and our enquiries are progressing quickly as a dedicated team of officers and staff from specialist departments work together to identify those involved in this incident.

“We have three people in custody and numerous lines of enquiry ongoing, including the review of CCTV footage, house-to-house and forensic enquiries.

“I appreciate that this incident may be causing concern locally and we are working relentlessly to progress enquiries quickly and piece together the circumstances of this burglary. To that end, we’re keen to hear from anyone who may hold information about this incident.
