Man charged after police find 300 cannabis plants during house raids in Sheffield

A man has been charged over the discovery of 300 cannabis plants after police officers raided three homes in a Sheffield street.

A large quantity of dried cannabis was also recovered from Greasbro Road, Tinsley, in the operation.

A man has been charged with producing controlled drugs and remanded into custody.

Yesterday, teams of officers from South Yorkshire Police were joined by the National Crime Agency for a series of coordinated raids at seven addresses in Sheffield and Rotherham.

Search warrants were granted in relation to ongoing investigations into organised crime and drug supply.

At an address on Thorpe Drive, Waterthorpe, Sheffield, a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and the production of cannabis.

He was released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Raids were also carried out in Broomhall, Beighton, Halfway and Sheffield city centre, as well as Thrybergh and Eastwood in Rotherham.
