Man bailed by South Yorkshire Police after discovery of sub machine gun and hand grenade

A man arrested over the discovery of a sub machine gun and hand grenade has been bailed by South Yorkshire Police.

The 28-year-old was arrested after officers searched an address in Carlyle Court, Maltby, Rotherham.

In addition to the Uzi 9mm machine gun, hand grenade and a Scorpion automatic weapon, officers also found an air rifle and cash.

The suspect was held on suspicion of money laundering, possession of firearms offences, possession of drugs with intent to supply and theft of a motor vehicle.
