South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers attempted to stop a driver, who decided they would much prefer to begin a police pursuit and put themselves and members of public at risk.

“After a 13-minute vehicle pursuit and a very short foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested for a number of offences, including dangerous driving, possession of a class B drug, driving with no insurance and without a valid licence, driving over the prescribed limit of a controlled substance and burglary.

“He was subsequently charged with a number of the offences and released under investigation for the remainder.

“We are asking for witnesses of the dangerous driving to come forward.”
