Man arrested for dangerous driving and drug possession after Sheffield police chase
Witnesses to a police chase in Sheffield are being urged to come forward.
A police pursuit was mounted when a silver Ford Focus failed to stop for officers in the Stocksbridge area on Saturday.
Officers began pursuing the car at 5.37pm and followed it to Bolsterstone and into Stocksbridge.
The pursuit lasted around 13 minutes.
South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers attempted to stop a driver, who decided they would much prefer to begin a police pursuit and put themselves and members of public at risk.
“After a 13-minute vehicle pursuit and a very short foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested for a number of offences, including dangerous driving, possession of a class B drug, driving with no insurance and without a valid licence, driving over the prescribed limit of a controlled substance and burglary.
“He was subsequently charged with a number of the offences and released under investigation for the remainder.
“We are asking for witnesses of the dangerous driving to come forward.”
