Police have released new details about the fatal crash for the first time
This is the face of the teen who “rammed” a man “off the road to his death” in a horror crash.

Mackenzie Ball, 20, died following a two-vehicle collision on Morthen Road, at the junction of Moat Lane, Wickersley, on June 2, 2024.
On Monday (April 28, 2026), Owen Cocksedge, 19, of HMP Doncaster, pleaded guilty to manslaughter - with it now emerging he “rammed” Mackenzie off the road during a chase following an altercation between two groups.
New details never made public before were released by South Yorkshire Police today (April 28) about how the crash - involving Cockedge’s Subaru Forester and a Land Rover Discovery containing Mackenzie - came to pass.
A statement reads: “On June 2, 2024, shortly after 4pm, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on Morthen Road at the junction of Moat Lane involving a silver Land Rover Discovery and a silver Subaru Forester.
“As officers arrived on scene, those involved had fled the scene, leaving Mackenzie critically injured in the Land Rover.
“Despite everyone’s best efforts, Mackenzie died at the scene.

“Detectives began to work at pace to piece together the circumstances that led to Mackenzie’s death and who those involved were.
“Through CCTV work, Cocksedge was identified as the driver of the Subaru and it transpired that following an altercation, he had used his vehicle to ram Mackenzie off the road, causing the collision and his death.
“Cocksedge was arrested, charged and remanded, and yesterday (April 27, 2026) took account for his actions and pleaded before a judge. He will be sentenced at a later date.”
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Matt Bolger, said: "Mackenzie was a young man who had his whole life ahead of him and since his death, my thoughts have been with his family and friends.
"We have worked around the clock to build up a picture of what happened in the lead-up to Mackenzie's death, and to find those who were involved.
"My deepest condolences remain with Mackenzie's loved ones - their patience and dignity throughout this investigation has been remarkable."
Three other young men from Sheffield - Kowen Pitts, 22, of Jaunty Avenue, Gleadless Townend; Adam Platts, 20, of Newbould Crescent, Beighton; and Deacon Blake, 18, of Jaunty Avenue, Gleadless Townend - are all charged with manslaughter and are yet to enter pleas.
They will appear at Sheffield Crown Court on June 8.
