London Road shooting: Police patrols to reassure residents after Sheffield gun attack
Police patrols have been stepped up in the wake of a shooting which left a 16-year-old fighting for life.
South Yorkshire Police have released a statement today (November 25) to reassure residents in the London Road area.
The force says offiers will be carrying out patrols in the area, ‘to be available’ to the public following yesterday’s incident.

A spokesperson from the force said: “Gun and violent crime have no place in our community.
“We remain fully committed to supporting the Major Crime Investigation as efforts continue to identify those responsible for the shooting, which has left a teenage boy in hospital fighting for his life.”

A police scene remains in place on London Road while detectives, forensic specialists and investigation teams continue their enquiries to secure vital evidence.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for public cooperation as enquiries continue.
“We ask for your cooperation as the answers to why this has happened, and who is responsible, may lie within our communities. While officers can be present in many places, we cannot be everywhere - your support is vital,” the force added.
“If you hold any information that could assist our investigation, please come forward. No matter how small or seemingly insignificant it may appear, it could prove to be the crucial piece that helps us complete the picture.”
