Investigation underway into 'shots fired' in Sheffield this morning
An investigation is underway after a suspected firearms discharge in the Heeley area of Sheffield in the early hours of this morning, Thursday, August 27.
South Yorkshire Police told The Star they were called to Madehurst Gardens at 4.30am to reports that gunshots had been fired. There was damage found to two properties on the street and enquiries are now underway to establish the cause of this damage.
A police cordon is in place and there will be an increased police presence in the area as officers work to find those responsible and establish whether anyone was injured in the incident.
Residents reported hearing ‘four shots' in the early hours of the morning, along with ‘shouting’, which woke them up.
A police helicopter was seen in the area at around 5.25am.
