The woman, who lives in Normanton Springs, posted a photo to Facebook showing a group of teenage boys and girls congregating together on the fields behind her home.

She added that not only were the teenagers sitting close to each other, they were also drinking alcohol and called on their parents to make themselves much more aware of what their kids were up to during the lockdown, as she was.

She said: “I find it disgusting when me and my family who have actually got teenagers are trying to be as cautious as we can and then you've got parents who don't even know where their kids are.

"This makes me mad as I have a teenage son with Asperger's who is really struggling with the change in daily life and parents thinking it's ok to let their teenagers out not knowing what they are up to.”

The story is the latest in a series of incidents of the Government’s social distancing rules being flouted.

Last month, youths in the Sheffield suburb of Page Hall were criticised for congregating on the area’s streets and it was a similar story in nearby Grimesthorpe in March, where groups were seen meeting on a playground.

The current Government rules say people must not meet in groups of more than two and that you can only see one person from another household at a time.
