Concerns raised over Harvey Willgoose killer's access to social media from jail
Boy was found guilty of murder last year and detained for a minimum of 16 years.
The mum of murdered Sheffield schoolboy Harvey Willgoose fears she is being trolled by the boy who killed him at school.
His mother, Caroline, has told The Sun she is being bombarded with anonymous messages online calling for Mohammed Umar Khan, 16. who was jailed for Harvey’s murder during the lunch break at All Saints School, Granville Road, to be freed.

She said she receives messages saying“3Umar”, meaning “Free Umar”, and that Khan uses similar phrases on his own Instagram account, and is concerned over the the idea that her son’s killer appeared to have access to social media in jail.

The Ministry of Justice is understood to be investigating.

Harvey, aged 15, was stabbed to death in front of horrified children and teachers at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield by Mohammed Umar Khan, also15, who took a hunting knife to school.
Khan was found guilty of murder at Sheffield Crown Court last year and detained for a minimum of 16 years.
An inquest was opened and adjourned at Sheffield Coroner’s Court in February 2025 pending the conclusion of the criminal case.
