Former Sheffield United star Harry Maguire found guilty on all charges after arrest in Greece

The Mosborough-born Red Devils captain was found guilty of repeated bodily harm, attempted bribery, violence against public employees and insult at a trial which took place today in his absence.
He was sentenced to a jail term of 21 months and 10 days, but this will be suspended because it was a first offence, and the charges were classed as misdemeanours.

Hide AdThe former Sheffield United defender, 27, was one of three people arrested on Thursday after an altercation with police, along with his brother Joe, 28, and Christopher Sharman, 29, who also appeared in court on Tuesday.
Joe Maguire, who is also a footballer and currently plays for non-league Ilkeston Town, was found guilty of repeated bodily harm, violence against public employees and attempted bribery.
Sharman was been found guilty of insult, repeated bodily harm and violence against public employees.
The three were arrested on Thursday after a fight broke out in a Mykonos bar over claims his sister was injected with a suspected ‘rape drug’, spending two nights in a Greek jail before being freed on Saturday.

Hide AdManchester United have yet to make any comment on the case, except to say that they had made contact with their player and that he was fully cooperating with the Greek authorities.
Despite the case, Maguire was today named by England manager Gareth Southgate in the Three Lions’ squad for Nations League matches against Iceland and Denmark.
