Emar Wiley, 17, was today sentenced to a minimum of 16 years for killing the 21-year-old, who was chased and stabbed twice in the chest before being found on Piper Crescent, near the Southey Green area of Sheffield, on July 21, 2019, and later dying in hospital.

The restriction on naming Wiley was lifted at Sheffield Crown Court after a successful application by The Star.

Olivia, Lewis' girlfriend of five years and mother of his child, told the court: "Lewis worshipped Carter and could not wait to do all the things with him that a dad usually takes for granted."

Wiley, of no fixed address, had denied murder but was found guilty by a jury in March.

He will also serve five and a half years for GBH and three years possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. Those sentences will be served concurrently.
