Eight people due in court charged over assault in Sheffield city centre

Eight people have been charged over an assault in Sheffield city centre.

They are accused of involvement in an incident involving two groups of people in the Barker’s Pool area at around 6pm on June 13.

A 55-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were allegedly assaulted during the incident.

Steven Carrol, 28, of Maltravers Terrace, Arbourthorne, has been charged with affray and common assault, and Wayne Garrity, 31, of Derby Street, Heeley, has been charged with affray and racially aggravated common assault.

David Hill, 27, of Skelton Grove, Woodhouse; Luke Hodder, 28, of Burnaby Street, Hillsborough; Iain Inkson, 56, of Stradbroke Road, Stradbroke; Hayley Holdsworth, 19, of Maltravers Crescent, Arbourthorne; Brandon Moxon, 22, of Maltravers Crescent, Arbourthorne and Michael Storey, 57, of Skelton Lane, Woodhouse, have all been charged with affray.

A ninth person, a 16-year-old boy, has been reported on summons for affray and racially aggravated common assault.

They are all due in court next year.
