Drive-by robbers on moped hunted by police in Sheffield

Two men on a moped stole a chain and bracelet from a cyclist in a drive-by robbery in Sheffield.

They struck under a bridge on Attercliffe Street, close to the junction with Leveson Street, Attercliffe, when a cyclist was riding along the road.

The robbers pulled up alongside the cyclist and one of them grabbed his bracelet and chain before the other punched him.

The moped driver was white, slim and wore a black tracksuit and black balaclava.

His passenger was white, unkempt looking and wore a cream and green tracksuit, which was pulled up over his face.

They were on a black moped, which had silver writing on the side.

Witnesses to the incident, which happened at 4.30pm on Thursday, May 28, are urged to come forward.

A photograph of the stolen chain has been released by South Yorkshire Police.
