Dashcam captures moment South Yorkshire Police traffic cops almost hits loose cows in road

A dashcam captured the moment a traffic cop travelling at 90mph had to perform an emergency stop to avoid hitting six loose cows on a road.

The South Yorkshire Police officers was responding to reports of a vehicle failing to stop for colleagues when he was involved in a near-miss with six cows.

He was travelling at 90mph just moments before he spotted the cows and managed to stop without hitting them.

South Yorkshire Police said: “One of our traffic officers was on his way to support our district officers with a fail to stop when he luckily was able to stop before hitting six loose cows in the road.

“The outcome could have been very different for our officer and the cows if he had not been able to stop and react so quickly.

“Please remember to shut all gates to your animals when leaving and ensure hedges and fencing is in good condition.”
