Danny Irons murder: Three men arrested on suspicion killing Sheffield dad-of-three

Three men are being held on suspicion of murdering dad-of-three Danny Irons in Sheffield.

Two men from Sheffield, both aged 29, and a 24-year-old man from Rotherham were all arrested last night, Wednesday, April 21, on suspicion of murder.

Police said this morning that all three remained in police custody over the killing.

Mr Irons, 32, was stabbed to death on Fretson Green, in Manor, in the early hours of Saturday, April 17.

Emergency services were called at 12.34am and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 28-year-old Sheffield man who was arrested on the day of the killing has been released under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Palmer, who is investigating, said: “Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far.

“I continue to appeal to anyone who has information about what happened to Danny to get in touch with us. We are particularly keen to hear about any vehicles that were seen in the Fretson Green area around the time of the incident.

“Uniformed officers will remain in the area as investigations continue, so please don’t hesitate to speak to them if you have any information or concerns.”
