Patrols stepped up as police outline action on nuisance youths in well known Sheffield park
Police aware of ‘young people’ causing problem
Police say they are stepping up patrols to deal with anti-social behaviour in a Sheffield park, after concerns were raised by a ‘friends’ group.
Friends of Concord Park and Woolley Wood raised the issue at an online question and answer session with South Yorkshire Police’s Ecclesfield and Shiregreen neighbourhood policing team’s Sgt Matthew Cook.

Asked how officers were planning on policing anti-social behaviour within Concord Park and Hartley Brook shops, he told the group that officers were aware of issues with young people causing issues in those areas.
He said: “We are working with the council’s anti-social behaviour officers to increase patrols to help identify those involved and prevent this behaviour.
“Those identified with be referred into the ASB pathway which looks at identifying the causes and addressing the behaviour.
“We work with the council and social landlords to take tenancy action alongside this where necessary.
Sgt Cook added police encouraged anybody who witnesses nuisance, anti-social behaviour to contact them on 101 or report it via their website.
Asked about the range of times patrols are happening, he said both teams were working well into the evening.
“The police conduct both overt and covert patrols, so whilst you might not always see us it doesn’t mean we aren’t there.
“Accurate reporting of these issues helps us target our patrols to the right times.”
