CCTV released to find man after pensioner was punched in the face in Sheffield city centre

Police have released CCTV footage to locate a man they wish to speak to after a pensioner was punched in the face during an assault in Sheffield city centre.

A 72-year-old man was targeted after he witnessed a group of teenagers dropping litter just past the Poundland store on Arundel Gate, at around 8.15pm on Saturday, August 22.

The pensioner had a conversation with the youths about their litter when an unknown man approached the victim and started shouting at him.

It is believed this unidentifiable man then punched the victim in the face, which caused him to fall the floor.

The 72-year-old lost consciousness after hitting his head on the pavement and suffered injuries to his head and face, while his watch was also damaged.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured should call officers on 101, quoting incident number 945 of 22 August 2020.
