Boy, 15, recovering in Sheffield Children’s Hospital after being stabbed in the chest

The teenager was stabbed in his chest in Leverton Drive, Sharrow, at around 6.45pm yesterday.

He was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital for surgery and remains in hospital in a stable condition this morning.

It is not believed that any arrests have yet been made.

A number of teenagers have been involved in stabbings in Sheffield in recent times.

One of the most high profile cases involved the fatal stabbing of 15-year-old Sam Baker, who was attacked with a knife he was carrying himself, during an altercation on Lowedges Road, Lowedges, in May 2018.

His killer, who was 15 at the time, pleaded guilty to his manslaughter on the basis he stabbed Sam in self-defence and was sentenced to two years and eight months’ detention.

Isaiah Usen-Satchell, 18, was fatally stabbed on St Aidan’s Road, Norfolk Park, Sheffield, in a street fight in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The Leeds Trinity University student was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

Five Rotherham men, aged between 18 and 27, were arrested over the fatal stabbing and released on police bail pending further enquiries but nobody has yet been charged over the murder.
