Body found on golf course believed to be missing Sheffield man
Police officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body on a golf course believe it to be that of a missing Sheffield man.
The body was found by officers at Gotts Park Golf Club, Kirkstall, Leeds, at 6pm yesterday as they searched the area for 20-year-old Dewi Turton, from Woodseats, Sheffield, who had been reported missing the day before.
Dewi, a student at Leeds Beckett University, was reported missing after last being seen near to the Kirkstall Brewery student residences in Kirkstall at 5am on Monday.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
In a statement released today, West Yorkshire Police, said: “Officers searching for missing Dewi Turton in Leeds have found the body of a man that is believed to be him.
“The body was found shortly before 6pm yesterday as officers were searching Gotts Park Golf Club.
“Formal identification is yet to be completed but it is believed to the missing 20-year-old.
“There were no suspicious circumstances and his family have been informed.”
