Armed police descend on Sheffield road as witnesses report hearing 'gunfire'

The incident happened early this afternoon on Stubbin Lane in Firth Park.

Police are yet to comment on the incident but video from the scene shows armed police in the area and what appeared to be a person lying on the pavement.

An eyewitness said she was delivering a parcel to one of her clients when she heard what sounded like six gunshots.

She said: “When I got in our car my husband said he saw smoke and two Asian youths fleeing the scene.

“As we drove past the shops on our way home we noticed armed police holding a man down to the floor telling everyone to stay clear.”
