24-year-old Rotherham father who died on M1 named as family pay tribute

A man who sadly died after falling from a bridge running over the M1 has today been named as Levi Thompson, a ‘much-loved’ father from Rotherham.

Levi’s body was found on the northbound carriageway of the M1, near junction 31 of Woodall Services, following a call to emergency services shortly after 3.20am on Wednesday (15 April).He is believed to have fallen from the bridge running over the motorway and then collided with two heavy goods vehicles in the carriageway.A statement from Levi’s family said: “Levi was a much-loved father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and a loyal friend to anyone he knew.

“He is gone but never forgotten.”

Levi’s family members are currently being supported by specially trained officers.

Police are appealing for witnesses motorists with dash-cam footage to come forward.
