A Sheffield abuser called his ex-partner over 350 times from prison asking her to “retract” a statement against him.
Raven Palmer, 27, told the scared complainant he would go “mad nutty” when released from jail and blamed her “entirely” for his remand.

Sheffield Crown Court heard Palmer was in custody at the time awaiting trial for “urinating” on and strangling the mother of his child.
Sam Jones, prosecuting, described how Palmer used other prisoners’ pin numbers to make the barrage of calls and on one occasion asked another inmate to make a call on his behalf.
Mr Jones said Palmer would tell the complainant “you know what you need to do” and that he would have “serious words” with neighbours who were witnesses to his domestic abuse.
The court heard the threatening calls went on for over a month between November 2025 and January this year however Jones’ victim eventually said she would “not” retract her statement as he had “broken her ribs”.
Palmer’s trial was supposed to commence in April this year however the defendant did not attend and the Crown finally offered “no evidence”.
The defendant had one previous conviction for criminal damage against the same woman, the court heard.
His barrister Harriet Eglinton said Palmer was the “sole carer” for his ill mother, who had “struggled” while he was in custody.
Judge Michael Slater, noting the mitigation, that probation had recommended Palmer for work in the community and he had already been on remand for eight months, suspended a 21-month jail term for two years.
He handed Palmer a 26-day accredited programme and 20 rehabilitation activity days. Palmer, of Canada Street, admitted perverting the course of justice.
