A “screaming” mum was chased down a Sheffield street by her daughter’s shovel-wielding ex-boyfriend - followed by her indignant husband, a court heard.

The terrified mum and her husband had arrived at their daughter’s address just as the enraged ex was stood banging on the door with the garden tool.
Defendant Jan Tancos’ ex-girlfriend had heard him shouting in the Roma language telling her to “come to the door” of her home on May 3 last year.
Neighbours claimed the previous day that Tancos - unhappy that his ex had a new boyfriend - had been stood outside in a balaclava with five others hammering on the entrance.
Mark Bates, prosecuting, told Sheffield Crown Court Tancos, 36, had also threatened the complainant on Facebook, saying “don’t show yourself in Sheffield - we’re going to light you on fire”.
At around 11.50am on the day of the incident, the girl’s father arrived, said Mr Bates.
He said: “The father goes into the premises and at that point the mother of the complainant arrives on the street screaming.
“At this point the defendant turns his attention to the mother and chases her with the spade. The father then comes out of the premises and chases the defendant.
“The defendant turns his attention again - brandishing the spade against (the father).”
Mr Bates said Tancos eventually fled when other householders appeared on the street.
As he climbed into his car he shouted “your house will be burned down, adding: “I will f*** you all - your wife and your children.”
Judge Graham Reeds KC said: “This was a disgraceful incident - you should know better.”
He suspended a nine-month jail term for 18 months, handing Tancos a four-month curfew and a two-year restraining order.
Tancos, of Flockton Avenue, was convicted of affray after a trial.
