Pair robbed man of over £8,500 cash and jewellery after luring him into car, Sheffield judge hears
Hackford and Wright expected a “significant amount” of cash on their victim
A man was violently robbed of over £8,500 cash and jewellery after being lured into a car on the pretence of buying it, a Sheffield judge heard.
The victim’s attackers Corey Hackford, 29, and Ryan Wright, 22, expected a “significant amount” of cash on him at the time, said Judge Charles Thomas.

He added: “The speed at which the violence began once (the victim) got into the car points to this being pre-planned on your part.”
The attack, said the judge, was “effected” by the victim being placed in the back seat of the car where he was “vulnerable” - surrounded by three males inside the car and one outside.
During the February 15 robbery Hackford held a “Rambo knife” at the victim’s throat and Wright punched him to the face as the pair relieved him of his iPhone, £1,400 cash and gold bracelets worth thousands.
Hackford and Wright’s target - left sporting a black eye and split lip - reported the pair afterwards however he gave no victim statement to the court.
Older and “leading” defendant Hackford, of Samuel Road, Sheffield, was jailed five years and four months. Wright, of Woodland Drive, North Anston, was jailed for five years and one month.
Both admitted robbery, however Hackford also admitted knife charges and Wright pleaded guilty to a burglary committed a month after the robbery.
