Creepy domestic abuser left lighter tied to balloon at ex’s address, Sheffield court told
Phillip Taylor would turn up at his victim’s workplace and walk past her home
A creepy domestic abuser left a lighter tied to a balloon at his ex’s address - part of a wider harassment campaign while under a restraining order.

Phillip Taylor, aged 41, would also turn up at his victim’s workplace and walk past her home during the “sustained” pestering between May 22 and May 30 this year.
The badgering began just two days after a suspended sentence for offences against the same woman had expired, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
Judge Charles Thomas told Rotherham man Taylor: “You knew you shouldn’t have been doing it. It was a persistent breach of the restraining order that had been imposed.”
The court heard Taylor had a good previous work record and had never been in trouble prior to his late 30s - when his mental health deteriorated due to cannabis misuse.
Taylor had already served four months on remand pending his latest court case - equivalent to the jail time he would have been given by the judge, the court heard.
He was handed a 12-month community order with probation input in respect of his mental health and drug use and an updated five-year restraining order.
Taylor, of Town Lane, Wingfield, admitted breaching a restraining order.
