Callous Sheffield drug dealer left woman for dead after crashing into her during bid to escape police
“You quickly fled the scene without a moment’s thought for anyone but yourself”
A callous drug dealer left a woman for dead after crashing into the side of her car - and only called the emergency services to make a false vehicle theft report.
Mohammed Khan caused the serious collision, at a four-way crossroads on Wostenholm Road, Sharrow, during a May 2026 crime spree involving thousands of pounds of drugs and weapons including a machete.

“You drove into the side of her vehicle, which was proceeding through the crossroads safely, and quickly fled the scene without a moment’s thought for anyone but yourself,” the judge, Recorder Richard Thyne KC, told Khan.
Khan caused the collision after a police officer began pursuing him in a marked vehicle, and fled the scene on foot, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
He did not attempt to check the condition of the woman he crashed into, who suffered injuries including fractured ribs in the collision.
The woman, who is employed as a social worker, said she has been forced to work part time in the wake of the crash, which has also led to her missing out on a job interview and being unable to maintain her routine of five gym visits a week.
Zaiban Alam, prosecuting, said Khan phoned the emergency services but only to report his car as stolen, and falsely claimed he was in London.
A hearing held on September 9, 2026 heard how police searches of Khan’s car and home, carried out either side of the crash, led to thousands of pounds of cocaine, ketamine and cannabis being recovered, along with cash, several mobile phones and weapons including a machete.

Khan, 22, of Abbeydale Road, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to a raft of charges including possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, possessing bladed articles in public places, dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice at an earlier hearing.
Defending, Jonathan Woodcock told the court that Khan suffered serious injuries in a stabbing when he was just 15-years-old, leading to him falling into drug dealing after he began using cannabis to cope with the trauma of the attack.
Recorder Thyne jailed Khan for six years, four months.
