Sheffield man abused three young children - playing out “sordid desires” during repeated sexual assaults
It was the defendant’s own “concerned” father who finally turned up at a police station and had him arrested
A Sheffield man who abused three young children - playing out his “sordid desires” during repeated sexual assaults - has been jailed.
Blade Normington, 26, was turned-in to police by his own “concerned” father and after his arrest police found 29 videos and 505 still images of two of the victims.

Sheffield Crown Court heard numerous ones showed depraved Normington performing sex acts upon them. Police were able to identify Normington as their abuser by examining his hands, which could be seen in the imagery.
One mother said the defendant had identified her son as “vulnerable” to “prey on him”.
The court heard another of the victims had since become “introverted and socially anxious” while one had been excluded from education due to his “trauma”.
Matthew Burdon, prosecuting, described how the defendant would “groom” one of the youngsters with food and days out.
Judge David Dixon told Normington: “You played out your sordid sexual desires on vulnerable people - you claimed this was not for sexual gratification but you have a clear interest in young children.
“It seems to me you are a dangerous offender and there’s a real risk of you committing further specified offences in the future.”
Normington, formerly of Smelter Wood Road, Sheffield, admitted numerous sexual assaults against children and possessing indecent images of children.
He was jailed for eight-and-a-half years with a four-year post-custodial licence period and must serve at least two-thirds of the custodial term before being considered for parole.
