Brother of killers disappeared after fatal Sheffield crash and remains on the run
“We're still looking for Zain Ahmed in relation to this investigation and I'd appreciate any information whatsoever”
The brother of two men jailed for their roles in a horror crash that claimed the life of an innocent 16-year-old remains a wanted suspect.
After being involved in the crash that caused the death of Abdullah Yaser Abdullah Taleb, driver Zulkernain and brother, Armaan, who was a backseat passenger, attempted to flee the country.

Their attempt was foiled by police officers who arrested them at the port of Dover, from where they hoped to travel to Turkey after buying cross-ferry tickets.
Following a Sheffield Crown Court trial, Zulkernain, aged 21, was convicted of Abdullah’s murder, while 27-year-old Armaan was convicted of his manslaughter.
During the trial, jurors were told their brother Zain is believed to have been the front seat passenger in the grey Audi used in the fatal crash, which occurred on Staniforth Road, Darnall exactly a year ago on June 4, 2025.
He disappeared without a trace in its aftermath, resulting in him becoming a “wanted suspect.”
Speaking ahead of Zulkernain and Armaan being jailed for their roles in the fatal crash, senior investigation officer DCI Ben Wood confirmed Zain is still missing and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
“If anybody in the community knows where Zain is, we're still looking for Zain Ahmed in relation to this investigation and I'd appreciate any information whatsoever to locate him,” he said.
The trial heard how prior to the crash, an e-bike had reportedly been stolen from the Ahmed family home, leading to a dispute between the Ahmed brothers and individuals including 18-year-old La’Rome Divers.
La’Rome was one of the males in the group of e-bike riders and mopeds that the Audi was driving towards when Abdullah was fatally hit.
18-year-old La’Rome was also hit by the Audi, with the impact of the collision knocking him over a hedge and into a nearby garden.

Prosecutors asserted that the fatal incident arose out of the Ahmed brothers’ intention to carry out a “revenge attack.”
They armed themselves with weapons including a baseball bat and a stick, prior to setting off.
