Driver who killed innocent Sheffield boy, 16, found guilty of murder in tragic 'wrong place wrong time' trial
A driver has been found guilty of murdering an innocent 16-year-old boy he ran over in a tragic ‘wrong place wrong time’ killing in Sheffield.
Abdullah Yaser Abdullah Taleb was walking on Staniforth Road in Darnall when he was run over and killed by Zulkernain Ahmed, 21, on June 4, 2025.

Ahmed had pulled out of a line of traffic onto the wrong side of the road and drove his Audi A3 directly at a group of e-bikes and mopeds.
He collided with one of the riders and knocked them over a hedge - but also ran into innocent Abdullah, who moments before was seen walking on Staniforth Road, tossing and catching a water bottle without a care in the world.

Ahmed pleaded not guilty but admitted manslaughter, and claimed he never meant to hurt the teenager - but today (February 13), a jury at Sheffield Crown Court convicted the 21-year-old of murder.
Ahmed's brother, Armaan Ahmed , 27, who was a back seat passenger in the Audi, was cleared of murder but found guilty of manslaughter by the jury of nine women and three men.
Another back seat passenger, 30-year-old Adam Mohammed, 30, was cleared of both murder and manslaughter and a number of other charges.
Prosecutors told the jury that Abdullah was "in the wrong place at the wrong time" when Ahmed used the car as a "weapon" to target one of the riders after a dispute over e-bikes.
The Ahmed brothers will be sentenced on June 4.
