Caught with our trousers down! Almost 4 in 10 Yorkshire folk don't wear underwear every day

Workplace wardrobes are far more casual than originally thought with many Yorkshire office workers choosing to wear trainers to work, spending less time than average getting ready for work and even forgoing underwear, new research has revealed.

More than any other area in the country, 15.53 per cent of people in Yorkshire and the Humber wear trainers to work and a shocking 37.38 per cent don’t wear underwear every day.

Catherine Bannan, HR Manager at Printerland.co.uk who conducted the study, said: “Offices are taking a much more relaxed approach to work attire these days.

"Wearing casual clothes in the workplace can make people feel more comfortable and thereby increase the productivity and creativity of your staff."

The average Yorkshire and the Humber worker owns only 1 suit and spends £342.48 on their wardrobe compared with a national average of £397.

Brits are only spending a meagre 23 minutes a day on their appearance, with one in five spending less than ten minutes getting ready, according to the survey of 2,000 office workers.

The average worker from Yorkshire and the Humber takes 22 minutes to get ready for work.

Despite spending less time and effort on their appearance, Brits still splash out an average of almost £400 on their work wardrobe, with the over 55s deemed to be the biggest spenders.
