A Sheffield man died when the car he was driving was involved in a head-on smash with a lorry.

Colin Taylor, aged 67, from Gresley Road, Lowedges, was driving a Vauxhall Vectra along the A6 at Whatstandwell, near Matlock and Belper, when he was involved in a collision with a lorry travelling in the opposite direction.

Mr Taylor was named by Derbyshire Police today.

The lorry driver was unhurt.
