We have an adorable round up of 14 rescue dogs who are currently in need of a home.
All these pups are staying at Helping Yorkshire Poundies, and there are some real personalities who just need their perfect family.
Lucky, a cocker spaniel x basset hound, has lived up to his name - he was hit by a car earlier this year and broke his pelvis, but has made a great recovery.
This squishy-faced girl is Minnie, and she is looking for a Bully breed loving forever home. She is a Standard/Pocket Bully type breed (she has been assessed by police, and confirmed as not XL). Minnie is a typical friendly Bully who has been no trouble at all since arriving at HYPS. She can be a bit boisterous at times, so would be best in a child free home. Her dream home would have a secure garden for her to play and sunbathe in this summer. She’s a little stunner who will blossom in the right home. | Helping Yorkshire Poundies
Megan is such a little character, and despite being 12, is fit as a fiddle. She is a Patterdale cross and is looking for a home who know and love Terriers. Megan is a little star who loves to play with her toys, loves her food, loves her walks and loves to hop up onto your knee for a cuddle! She is totally clean in her kennel, so appears to be housetrained. She hasn’t shown much interest in other dogs so far – no aggression at all, but equally hasn’t been particularly interested in interacting, so may be happiest as the only dog or with a very calm dog who will be independent of her. | HYPS
Dyna the Staffy is 8 years old and has heartbreakingly been returned into HYPS' care after 6 years in an adoptive home, after her adopters' living situation meant they could no longer keep her. She is a typical little pocket rocket Staffy and is just the same as she was six years ago, just with a few grey hairs showing through now! She walks nicely on lead, and will walk past other dogs but does not want them in her space. She needs a pet free home with someone who understands that she just needs a bit of space from other dogs. She is fully housetrained, travels well and can be left alone for a few hours with no issue. She has her little quirks – black bags and bins seem to be her arch nemesis – which just adds to her character! She has a few minor health conditions which may need medication and specific diet. | HYPS
Franklin is a lovely two-year-old goofy pup who is desperate to find a home after being at the shelter for over a year. He is a big goofy puppy, and just does not like busy areas - he needs a home in the countryside so he can be safely managed on walks. He is fully housetrained and can be left for a few hours with no issues. He loves to run and play with other larger breed dogs. He will need a child-free home and will need careful introductions to visitors. | HYPS
