'Hundreds' of homes in Sheffield hit by widespread power cut late at night

As many as 4,500 customers were without power
Hundreds of homes and potentially thousands of customers lost power in Sheffield last night.
A widespread outage hit large parts of south-west Sheffield in the S10 and S11 postcodes, as well as parts of the city centre, beginning at around 10.30pm (September 29).
National Powergrid estimated more than 380 properties and over 4,700 customers were affected as entire streets were cut off off.
Some residents report seeing power restored by around 11pm.
The outage is over as of this morning.
Northern Powergrid was contacted for a comment.
