A chance to own a slice of an historic Georgian manor has come to market with this “beautiful” two-bedroom flat in Sheffield.
Estate agents Yopa presents this first-floor property at Loxley House, a 19th-century Grade-II listed building off Ben Lane, on offer now for £250,000.
A sweeping driveway to the house, private parking and a grand staircase makes for a royal welcome to this stately three-floor manor, once home to lord mayors and local celebrities of the 20th-century, but today stand as a set of luxury flats.
The centrepiece of the home could be its spacious living room and dining room, with hardwood flooring, high ceilings, window nook and feature fireplace.
Add to that two bedrooms, a family bathroom, an en-suite, a walk-in wardrobe and a cozy kitchen, Yopa says this is a “beautifully-presented two-bedroom first-floor property with stunning scenic views.”

13. Historic home
Loxley House as it stands was build in 1826 and has a storied history in Sheffield. Former owners included the "eccentric" Dr Henry Payne, who had such a bad falling out with the local parish he vowed to never go to church again and asked to be buried on the grounds in an unmarked btick vault. Another was William Clegg, a local celebrity in the early 1900s who played for Sheffield Wednesday, England, and served as both leader of the council and Lord Mayor of Sheffield, while the house was later used by the Sheffield Sea Cadet Crops as a base for many years. It was bought and made into flats by Campbell Homes in 1996. | Yopa
