Loxley Garden Centre announces changes at popular Sheffield nursery site
Well known venue re-opened earlier this year
A well known Sheffield garden centre has announced changes ahead of this winter.
Loxley Garden Centre was re-opened by British Garden Centre after the retirement of the family which ran it as Loxley Nurseries until autumn 2025.

Traditionally the site on Long Lane, Loxley, was closed over the winter.
But now the current owners say it will remain open over the winter - but for fewer days.
A spokesman said: “It will be closed Monday and Tuesday due to seasonal hours.

“On a positive note, we're still busy growing some great plants on site, and both the restaurant and garden centre are fully operating Wednesday through Sunday.
“Unlike the previous owner, we are not closing completely for the winter. We'll continue to sell Christmas trees, wreaths, and all garden essentials throughout the coming months.”
The cafe will also remain open, serving breakfasts, teas, and other refreshments.
The cafe re-opened earlier this summer, for the first time in several years.
When they re-opened the centre, British Garden Centres said they would be trying to keep it as it was before - a plant nursery famous for growing its own plants, and keeping it as that core gardening site that it was.
“We want to keep what the centre previously had, that community feel, and growing its own products,” said Anthony Boughey, who managed the re-opening, at the time.
