Sheffield residents demand national climate briefing after 'shocking' film screening
Attendees at a Sheffield screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing on the Climate and Nature Crisis demanded urgent national action
Over a hundred people watched a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing on the Climate and Nature Crisis at St Luke’s Church, Lodge Moor, recently.

Fronted by Chris Packham, the film provides expert witness from independent scientists on the threats to the UK in areas such as Weather Extremes, Food Security, Health and National Security. But it also revealed that there are actions that can be taken to mitigate the worst effects of the looming disasters.
A discussion after the film showed that people reacted with fear, shock and horror. And also outrage that these facts are not better known. An open letter to Olivia Blake MP was signed by most of those present. It supports her call, along with 166 other MPs, for a national primetime televised emergency briefing on the Climate and Nature Crisis.
Many in the audience felt that leadership is required from government on a scale equivalent to the covid emergency or World War II.
