Sheffield Indian restaurant wins the ‘Oscars of the curry industry’
A Sheffield Indian restaurant has won a regional award recognising chefs in the UK’s Asian restaurant and takeaway industry.

The Vine Indian Cuisine, based in Mosborough, was named Regional Chef of the Year for the North East at the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) 2026.
The awards ceremony took place at the London Hilton on October 12, with more than 1,250 businesses across the UK nominated.
The restaurant said: “It’s not just an award, it’s the Oscars of the curry industry.”
“A massive thank you to all our amazing customers, our hardworking team, and everyone who has supported us on this journey. This achievement wouldn’t be possible without you.”
The winners were selected following a process which considered customer nominations, online reviews, food hygiene ratings and assessments by a panel of judges.
Loyal customers shared their congratulations online.

The latest award comes after The Vine was named Best of the Best Restaurant – North East 2026 at the Global Power Awards UK in September.
The restaurant describes itself as one of the first Indian restaurants in Mosborough and serves a wide selection of Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, from traditional and signature dishes to chef's specialities, tandoori selections and Balti dishes.
Ran by owner and chef Muktar Ali and front-of-house manager Afaz Mohammed, the restaurant sits in a distinctive 18th-century former pub, on School Street, Mosborough.
The restaurant offers dine-in, takeaway and delivery services.
