Hugely popular Sheffield Tamper Coffee teases new Ecclesall Road location
“Something new is brewing” as popular Sheffield coffee shop teases Ecclesall Road opening
A popular Sheffield coffee shop has hinted it is opening a new café on Ecclesall Road.

Tamper Coffee posted a collage of black-and-white images on social media on October 4 with the words “something new is brewing”.
The pictures show work taking place inside the former Mister Carpets building, with another image confirming the new venue is “coming soon” to Ecclesall Road.
The former carpet shop, at 428 Ecclesall Road, closed in 2019.
Tamper has not yet announced an opening date, but the post has already attracted excitement from locals.
One person commented: “Thank god someone’s finally taking that space,” while another described it as “epic news”.

Other cafes and restaurants on Ecclesall Road have also welcomed the new arrival.
Cornerstone commented: “Welcome to the neighbourhood” while neighbouring Made Matcha said: “Hey neighbours, we can’t wait.”
It comes after plans were reported in July to turn the former Mister Carpets unit into a café.
Tamper Coffee was founded in Sheffield in 2011 by Natalie and Jon Perry, with the independent café inspired by New Zealand coffee culture.
The business describes itself as a daytime café-eatery serving coffee alongside New Zealand-style light bites.
Its existing café is based at the Grade II-listed Sellers Wheel building on Arundel Street, where it serves food and drink seven days a week.
The new Ecclesall Road opening comes as the area continues to see a shift from traditional retail towards cafes, restaurants and other hospitality businesses.
