The Old Horns Inn, on Towngate, in High Bradfield, is a much-loved watering hole, boasting stunning views over the surrounding countryside and a traditional, cosy interior.
The Daniel Thwaites pub closed for around a month for a big makeover before reopening on June 16.
Landlord John Wyke said: “We’re really happy with the refurbishment, which has been very well received. It secures our long-term future and the relationship between us and the brewery.
“When we reopened it felt just like putting on an old pair of slippers.”
John told how the pub had been in need of some TLC, having not had a major refurbishment before this one during his 16 years at the helm.
But there have been no radical changes, other than a general freshening up, and, as one customer put it, ‘it feels like the Horns, only better’.
There is a new summer menu, including a range of ‘Summer Sizzlers’ drinks, with a loyalty card giving you every seventh drink for free.
There’s a wallet-friendly £8 lunchtime menu and the food ranges from pub classics to the popular dirty burgers and deep bowls.
