Deliveries are only available during each Beres store’s usual opening times, which can be found on the company website.

Fans of the shop are excited about the announcement.

One tweeted “Oh this is dangerous” and another wrote “I think I’m dead and in heaven.”

A number of people also tweeted sports presenter and known-fan Colin Murray, telling him about the ‘game changer for Sheffield’.

The firm was founded by Eileen Béres and her late husband Sandor and the pair opened their first shop together in 1961.

The family business has expanded across the city and now employs more than 90 staff across its 12 branches.

Eileen grew up in Barnsley, where she met Sandor, a butcher who came to Britain as a political refugee following the 1956 uprising in his native Hungary. The couple then moved to Sheffield.

The business was a butchers to begin with but it was the freshly-made pork sandwiches which became their signature product and propelled their expansion.

Their three children, Richard, Helen and Catherine, all joined the family firm, which today has branches across Sheffield, including in the city centre, Chapeltown, Crookes and Woodseats, and a factory on Rawson Spring Road, in Hillbsborough.
